THANK YOU Dad or how I killed Uncle Hitler
A monologue

Well, Uncle Richard, what did you shout every time? Can't you really remember? Today I do! Today I'm going to cut off your ears!
ACTION
A shy furniture salesman and passionate amateur photographer, quiet but thoughtful, now in his mid-forties, feels compelled to give a speech on his father's eighty-fifth birthday. However, the speech has remained at home on his desk. So he has to improvise, and with every sentence, with every picture, he slides deeper into disaster: the truth.
REVIEWS
This clever piece, through its unconsciously suffering comic anti-hero, demonstrates how easy it is to destroy a delicate soul early on – or at least to damage it so severely that it becomes incapable of trusting others and is condemned to perpetual loneliness. And all in the name of paternal love.
The author of the play is Fred Apke, a gifted German artist, also an actor and director, who repeatedly produces excellent plays in Poland – as the play “Thank You, Papa” at the Teatr Druga Strefa proves once again.
