ACTION
The actors in the Shakespeare fragment are recruited from the cast of Golem 38
During a heated rehearsal of Shakespeare's "The Merchant of Venice," an aging director collapses. But instead of the liberating reality that awaits him, he is confronted with an abyss of memory. The actors shed their roles and, before the audience's eyes, transform into the ghosts of his past.
Suddenly the theater falls silent and the stage becomes the scene of November 9, 1938. Amidst the burgeoning terror of Kristallnacht, a psychological and physical drama unfolds, revolving around identity, cowardice, and resistance.
When a mute church servant assumes the role of the legendary "Golem" and breaks through the powerlessness of the victims with unexpected brutality, a spiral of violence is set in motion that extends into the present day.
