ACTION
Imagine a world where the comforting logic of everyday life is completely suspended, and instead, the raw, unfiltered images of the subconscious take over. The play "Blind Passengers" is no ordinary theatrical experience—it's a heady, visually stunning plunge into the most hidden and darkest corners of the human psyche.
In an uninterrupted, nightmarish sequence, a panorama of bizarre fates and archaic conflicts unfolds. We encounter a man who, driven by a panicky fear of mortality—haunted by the traumatic vision of a maggot-eaten deer—voluntarily chains himself to a throne in a windowless room. His desperate attempt to stop time itself culminates in an unavoidable glance in the mirror. But what does he see there that compels him to leave his exile and return to a world that has long since forgotten him?
Meanwhile, in other, nameless locations, faceless figures wrestle with one another in a macabre, pantomimic dance of death. A mummy wrapped in white gauze demands a sacrifice until a "sweeping kiss" changes everything, revealing a golden truth beneath black veils. Elsewhere, humanity clings to the most absurd of all hopes: men, filled with greed and ecstasy, open mysterious boxes, searching for some external salvation, only to see their own banal desolation reflected within them.
The play paints a relentless picture of power and subjugation, of torturers caught in sadistic games until one of them breaks the cold logic of violence with an unexpected deception, robbing the perpetrators of their triumph. And amidst all this, figures stand against bare walls, blackening their hands, leaving desperate marks of their existence, and crawl irresistibly towards a blinding, overwhelming light – a light so bright that it ultimately robs them of their sight.
"Blind Passengers" defies any conventional narrative structure or psychological explanation. It operates with deafening noise, absolute silence, and stark color contrasts of blood red, gold, and abysmal blackness. It is a silent scream, a wild, melancholic, and at times darkly humorous mystery. Who is willing to check their sanity at the door for an evening and surrender to this fascinating, uncontrollable stream of consciousness?
