ACTION

Since the beginning of her marriage, Dona Ana has had to hide her true feelings. On the occasion of her birthday, Donna Ana receives permission from her husband, Don Ruy, to perform the play "TERESICA - UNA PASIÓN" in the castle garden.

With this, she now wants to tell him the truth, in full view of everyone, yet unassailable because it is hidden in the tragic story of the Jewish girl Teresica.

Long ago, Don Ruy, as a judge, had declared the girl an outlaw and banished her from his principality.

Once Teresica's true story has been told, she gives her terminally ill husband the opportunity to revise his earlier judgment. Will he now show more mercy?

REVIEWS

Teresica is a bright, fascinating work. The piece consists of songs from the Spanish Renaissance and is currently one of the most interesting offerings from the Krakow Opera. It's well worth seeing.
(Kraków w obiektywie)

Theater within theater, opera within opera. "Teresica - una pasión" is an opera serenata in which the spoken word is just as important as the singing. A magnificent achievement by all involved, based on the idea of playwright and director Fred Apke, who draws his inspiration from songs of the Spanish Renaissance. Paweł Dybicz

Such intelligent dramaturgy has not been seen on the opera stage for a long time.
Mr. Director Apke, I was fascinated by the beauty and simplicity with which you tell this sad story.
