ACTION

Four brave pigs on the run from a fate that awaits most pigs.
Rudolpho Valentino, Zitterspeck, Wolkenwühler, and the sow Borstengala, each with their own distinct porcine past, journey through the human world, out into the fields and into the forest, hoping to realize their dream of a free life among the wild boar people. A comically serious play about self-discovery, community, love, solidarity, and the courage to break free from prescribed paths in order to find a dignified life.
REVIEWS
The allegorical use of animals as representatives of human characteristics and attitudes is familiar to us primarily from Orwell's Animal Farm. In contrast to Orwell's cult novel, the author's interest lies in the human condition in the strict sense – moreover, Apke's play is primarily a (albeit extremely bitter) comedy, brimming with linguistic and situational humor.
(Bogdan Nauka)
A seemingly simple story about a sadly comical escape from the slaughterhouse - Rudolpho Valentino - Zitterspeck, Wolkenwühler, Bristengala - set out to conquer their freedom in the forest.
But along the way, the story also becomes a metaphor for human existence in general. Despite its serious subject matter, Apke's play is a tragicomedy rich in linguistic and situational humor.
